Awesome day!! A day of glitz!! All gals decked in saree and guys in vaeshti, for a photo shoot in college. Just a small glitch!! There was no photo session officially. In fact some people were sent to the Principal’s office for wearing the saree.
But it was a great day honestly. Lots of pics, Lots of fun. Tomo there is a self organised bye-bye party. I don’t know if it could be called Farewell, coz that’s what its called when juniors throw seniors a party. In any case, I loved the day. I had straightened my hair yesterday and I didn’t look so bad myself. Waxing and Polishing happened too. The best part of this all this is that it gives you a sense of BEING NEW, which is pretty cool you know.
I went to Gangotri for Lunch and a darn Pani Puri, which I hadn’t bothered to chew, got stuck in my throat and it tore it down I’m sure. Its been a day and a half and my throat still hurts like there is a stone in there. And I have officially stopped eating Pani Puri now.
This is a movie I watched last night. I saw the movie and I still haven’t found the answer to that. There is absolutely no inkling of link to title and the movie. But who cares. It was ok entertainment. A very cliched story line and cliched everything. I have been trained in story writing from 1st to 12th Grade. Lets see now, if you are any good.
Boy meets Gal. Confesses Love. But gal engaged. Boy is Bridegrooms best friend.
What happens then is the rest of the plot. Raghuvaran was the father of the Boy and he dies half way through the movie. I don’t know if this was his last movie. Felt kinda bad abt it. Dad and son are very good friends.
Some of the stuff that I’d never understand in all these movies are these.
* Have you ever EVER seen a movie where the Heroine does not like the rain.
* Has there ever been a movie where the hero did not stare/fall in love with the heroine when she is enjoying the rain.
* Has there been one, where the heroine, on hearing a loud thunder, run and hug the hero, and long after the thunder is done, realise ‘oh my god, I am hugging him now’ and act like they just commited the worst sin ever and run away.
Well if you don’t understand the above and would not like to understand them ever.. well.. please don’t watch the movie. The gal enjoys the rain and the guy just falls in love wit her immediately. In reality, most gals hate being drenched. It messes everything up. There were these other funny happenings too.
This guy knows bull abt software, but on seeing the gal being a software professional, learns all languages (C, C++ and Java) in a day and attends the interview the next day. But of course he gets selected. How did he manage this feat?? By looking at the gal. Everytime he looked, the answers flowed. What a medical marvel!!
Now that he is in the company, he doesn’t seem to know anything. The entire system crashes (thanks to the hero typing something wrong) and a project in which a group of 20 are working cannot be completed now. So hero takes it upon him. Repairs the system OVERNIGHT and writes the code OVERNIGHT AGAIN. The code, that this group has been doing for the past months and not being able to complete it. Yet another miracle.
After days he tells her that he loves her, only to find out she’s engaged to be married to another guy. Miracle no 3 is soon to follow. The best friend is the bridesgroom, but it so happens that this guy never knew where his wife to be or his best friend worked all these years, though he is very much in touch with both of them.
All three are off to a village now for the wedding. The other miracles include him saving a very old dying lady by talking to her, the usual (fighting a dozen men all by himself) and the like. I really like Karthik, who is the bridegroom or should I say the perinneal bridegroom. It started with Alaipayuthey, then Kanda Naal Muthal and now this one. I mean, he is seriously good looking, for pete’s sake get him married for once.
So, there these songs sung in melancholy. These songs and scenes are such that nobody should ever be in such a situation as attending his own lover’s wedding. There can be nothing worse apparently. But, the quad-limbs amputed ppl who live in this world live the life of dreams. But of course, there can be nothing worse than the sufferings of this hero. Now by the end of the movie, the gal realises whom she is in love with and tells the hero it is him.
This is how she puts it. ‘A gal will take an eternity to make a decision, because she has to a weigh a lot of things in her mind apparently, but once she makes up her mind she’ll never change it and stick to the guy she fell in love with’. Oh sweet Lord, will ppl grow up in this country, at least in the movies. We live a simple life. A simple life, full of decisions I agree. Sometimes, decisions go wrong but you can live with it or change the decision. As simple as that. All these stupid dialogues are unwarrented in life. I believe in the person knowing what is right and wrong. I don’t believe in having to explain that to anyone, coz these are YOUR choices.
Coming back to point, the movie ends and we all know what happens. I realise that not all movies can be taken abt THE ISSUES. That this was for entertainment. And entertainment I got. If not for all those sentimental paethals, it would have actually been much more watchable. Songs were ok. Besides this, I really wish women are given more role than just having to decide whom they should marry and dance in the dream sequences that ensue. You know, we are not born with just that ONE ability, we can read, write and think. oh yeah, We REALLY can.
Alaipayuthey, Kanda Naal mudhal to name a few movies you mentioned has no heroines in wet clothes! !!
But otherwise most of them do! !!
Glad you enjoyed the movie..

And Kartik is married in real life….guess you know it.
